Questioning our ability to process visual information.

Read Gombrich and his analysis of illusions. Focus on chapter VII (pp. 203-241).

4. Images as narratives.

Discussing key concepts for the interpretation and explanation of images.

Read Schirato and Web, focus on pp. 81-105.

5. Images as constructions.

Discussion about constructionism and its role in understanding visual culture.

6. Images as ideology.

Discussing the relationship between contemporary visual culture and political ideologies.

Read Adorno and his conception about the role of art in the formation of ideology. Focus on pages 46-61

Discussing the implications of images and image building in our self identity.

How EVA operates?

EVA operates on the basis of effective mutual recognition of academic achievements between European universities. The platform has implemented the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) as a commonly agreed means of assessment, thus raising the transparency of the study programmes.

OUR GOALS

The basic idea behind EVA is to facilitate the development and exchange of best practices in education and training as well as to boost the knowledge transfer among universities and teaching institutions within Europe and beyond.
